Terms of use
Plain terms for a small app. Read them once — they are short on purpose.
Last updated 6 August 2026
The agreement
These terms are between you and Sampati Nepal (Kathmandu, Nepal), the maker of the Sampati mobile app. Installing the app or creating an account means you accept them. If you do not, do not use the app.
The privacy policy is part of these terms.
Your account
- You must be 18 or older.
- One account belongs to one person. Keep your sign-in to yourself; anything done through your account is treated as done by you.
- Give an email address that reaches you. It is how an account recovery or an important notice gets to you.
What Sampati is, and is not
Sampati is a record-keeping tool. You tell it what happened with your money and it organises, totals and charts what you told it.
It is not:
- A bank or a payment service. No money moves through Sampati. Marking a bill paid in the app does not pay it.
- Connected to your bank. Balances are what you entered plus what you have logged since. They are your records, not a bank statement, and they can drift if you stop logging.
- Financial, investment, tax or legal advice. Nothing in the app — including budget suggestions, goal figures, portfolio numbers and the payslip breakdown — is advice. Decisions you make from it are yours. Speak to a qualified professional for anything that matters, especially tax.
Your entries stay yours
You own what you put into Sampati. You grant only the permission needed to run the service for you — storing your entries, showing them back to you, backing them up, and sending an item you explicitly hand to AI capture for processing.
Your entries are not used to train models, are not sold, and are not shared beyond the processors named in the privacy policy.
Premium and AI credits
The budgeting app is free. Premium adds AI capture, and is measured in credits — one credit-cost per read, scaled to what the read actually costs to run.
- Every new account gets an introductory period of full access and a batch of credits to try, at no charge.
- A Premium year is NRs 1,000 and includes 300 credits. Top-ups are available while Premium is running.
- Premium is arranged directly with us and switched on by hand. It does not auto-renew, and no card is stored anywhere.
- Credits have no cash value, cannot be transferred or refunded for cash, and expire with the term they were granted for.
- Prices may change. A change never affects a term you have already paid for.
If Premium is genuinely unusable for you through a fault at our end, write to us — refunds are handled case by case, in good faith.
What the AI gets wrong
AI capture produces a draft. It misreads amounts, picks the wrong category, and occasionally invents a merchant name. That is why nothing it produces is saved until you have read it and pressed save. Check the figure before you save it — an entry saved from a draft is your entry, and you are responsible for it.
Rates and market figures
Gold, silver and foreign exchange figures come from FENEGOSIDA and Nepal Rastra Bank, fetched once each morning. They are indicative, they can be stale, and they are not a quote — a dealer or a bank will give you a different number. Share prices are whatever you entered yourself.
Fair use
Do not:
- use Sampati for anything unlawful, or to record someone else's finances without their knowledge;
- attempt to reach another user's data, or to break, overload or reverse-engineer the service;
- resell access, automate bulk use of AI capture, or run the app through unofficial clients.
Availability and changes
Sampati is a small app run by a small team. It may be unavailable for maintenance, and features may change or be removed. If a change would lose you data, you will be told before it happens and given a way to export.
Ending it
You can delete your account from Settings whenever you like. That is final — everything goes.
We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms, or where required by law. Where it is reasonable to do so, you will be told first and given a chance to export.
Warranties and liability
Sampati is provided as it is. There is no warranty that it will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that a figure it displays is correct — it is a reflection of what you entered.
To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, lost profits, or a financial decision made using the app. Where liability cannot be excluded, it is limited to what you paid us in the twelve months before the claim. Nothing here limits liability for fraud or anything else that cannot be limited by law.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of Nepal, and the courts of Kathmandu have jurisdiction.
